Millennial Masterpiece

Tucked away in the mountains above Ojai …
What do you get when you combine stunning views, Spanish architecture, and an olive orchard? A sprawling estate in Upper Ojai, just waiting for the right buyer.
Entering the property, a long winding driveway meanders past oak, fruit, and olive trees, leading the way to the main residence. The drive sweeps by the 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom guest house and 1,000-square-foot art studio on its way through the estate — which has plenty of space at about 110 acres.
Up ahead, the main house thrusts out its wings with its unique “U” shape, beckoning your entrance in an outstretched embrace. Built in 2000 and designed by Ojai architect Jane Carroll, the home boasts large double doors which open to around 4,300 square feet of living space. Vaulted, exposed beam ceilings gracefully extend upward over cherry wood floors, while large windows provide sweeping mountain views from much of the home’s interior.
The views are, not surprisingly, one of the main draws of the property. Whether preparing a meal looking out the kitchen windows or lounging amongst the well manicured landscaping, the quiet, visceral serenity of the Ojai Valley awaits.
Through the front doors, the house opens up to the great-room and kitchen (above). Rustic alder cabinets line the kitchen walls, while a subzero fridge and a Dacor Double Oven are sure to satisfy even the most discerning cooks. In the morning, the breakfast nook — surrounded by windows — is the perfect place to enjoy a cup of coffee while taking in the first rays of sunshine. Down the hall, the master bedroom suite (right), occu-pies an entire wing of the house and boasts large French doors that lead to outdoor seating areas and gardens.
Heading to the backyard through large glass doors (top left), the first thing to hit you is that view with the towering striations of the Topa Topas standing tall in the distance. Stone pathways weave their way through gardens and orchards, sometimes leading to hidden treasures like the screened-in gazebo with wrap-around deck (above), perched over the treetops looking down at Upper Ojai and out to the mountains beyond.
